If you have ever sung in a choir at school, in a band, at church or otherwise, we would love to have you join us for our fall season. The commitment is for 1 season with 1 practice a week on Monday nights. The final performances are on December 7th, 8th and 9th. We welcome all ages from high school up. Our 70-80 members come from miles around, not just Wimberley. Our directors are different every season so we have a great opportunity to learn new music and techniques from the best directors in the area. We are a friendly, welcoming group that loves to see new faces!
Fall Director and Accompanist
The Wimberley Chorus Board is pleased to announce that Perry Dean has been selected Director for the fall concert season. Perry recently retired after 31 years as a public school choral director in Texas. He is currently director at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin.
Our accompanist for Fall 2018, is Jody Bagley Leifeste. Jody is honored to have been the Director of Traditional Music and Accompanist at the First United Methodist Church of San Marcos for 23 years and 17 years as the Director and Accompanist of the New Braunfels Community Chorale.
Beginning in the summer of 1980 at a July 4th musical/drama with 23 singers, the Wimberley Community Chorus was established under the leadership of Mary Guemple. This year marks the 38th year that the chorus has provided music for the Wimberley valley.
